Meet Cliff Taylor

Being a volunteer with the HBA enables me to support and elevate women in their professional growth. I can do this at scale through the EMEA Mentoring Committee and individually with mentees and mentors.

How has your involvement with the HBA expanded your network? I have been fortunate to get to know and collaborate with many inspiring professionals and leaders in healthcare. This has helped my own understanding and appreciation of the need to support to women to realize the HBA’s mission.

Why does your employer encourage you to stay engaged with the HBA? As I employe myself, it is quite simple! I spent the vast majority of my career in healthcare and it remains an important part of my mission to enable and support the advancement of women in healthcare.

I see myself contributing to the HBA’s vision of Creating Women Leaders for Life by mentoring women both in a group and one-to-one, supporting the EMEA Mentoring Programme alongside the members of the amazing EMEA Mentoring Committee, and participating in the recently started Men as Allies group.

What skills have you acquired or strengthened during your time as an HBA Member Leader? The main development for me has been keeping my focus on the HBA’s mission. In doing so I have learnt to become more flexible through collaborating with volunteers from other organizations, and mentoring women has helped me develop my listening skills and empathy.

My favorite part of serving as a Member Leader for the HBA is seeing women mentees increase their self-awareness, develop and deepen their skills and confidence, and especially when they experience career growth into roles where they can bring greater impact.
