Leading with Purpose: Welcome Message from HBA Pacific Region's New Chair
I am so excited to step into the role of Chair for the HBA Pacific Region. It’s an honor to serve this amazing community of accomplished professionals, all united by the common goal and commitment of furthering the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare.
Our region is unique with its innovation and energy. From dynamic biotech hubs, medical technology companies, academic institutions and start-ups, we’re leading the charge in transforming healthcare. This incredible ecosystem gives us a great opportunity to connect, collaborate, and catalyze progress - both professionally and personally.
As we start this exciting journey together, my vision for the Pacific Region is based on three pillars:
- Empowering Connections: Our strength is in our network. Let’s create more ways to meet, share ideas, and support each other - whether at events, online, or within our local networks.
- Driving Professional Growth: HBA has always been a champion of career and leadership development. We will continue to offer programs and resources to learn, lead and grow, including leadership discussions, mentorship opportunities, and access to industry thought leaders.
- Championing Innovation: Fostering a culture of innovation will drive progress in healthcare. Let’s encourage creative ideas, programs and initiatives so we can make an impact together.
In line with these pillars, we’re also excited to focus on entrepreneurship, supporting female founders, and driving innovation in women’s health. There is so much entrepreneurial talent in the Pacific Region; we will aim to create programs that support start-ups, connect founders with resources, and highlight the women leading these innovative ventures.
I invite each of you to engage fully with the many opportunities the HBA provides. Whether it’s attending an event, volunteering your time, or sharing your expertise, your involvement is what makes our community unique and impactful!
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the previous leadership team whose dedication and vision have laid a strong foundation for our continued success. Many thanks to our members and volunteers for your passion, ideas, and your commitment to advancing women in healthcare. Together, we will continue to progress this important work forward.
Please feel free to reach out to me with your thoughts, suggestions, or simply to say hello. I look forward to connecting with many of you and working together to make this an exceptional year for our HBA Pacific Region.
Kind regards,
Poornima Shubhakar
