This new, prestigious recognition celebrates companies demonstrating bold leadership, transformative innovation, measurable business impact, and powerful global collaboration.

What makes the Global Impact Award truly unique is its holistic focus—it recognizes the collective strength of an organization, not just a single program or initiative. This honor highlights companies that weave together leadership development, collaboration, global impact, and purpose-driven action.

Do companies need to be HBA Corporate Partners to apply?

No. Any organization may apply—a corporate partnership with the HBA is not a requirement.

As part of the evaluation, judges will consider how your company collaborates with industry partners and other organizations (like the HBA) that offer talent and leadership development programs and networking opportunities for employees.

What are the award criteria?

Submissions will be evaluated across four key dimensions:

• Leadership Excellence – How your company cultivates and retains future-ready talent through leadership development, mentorship, and global representation.

• Transformative Innovation – Use of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, digital health) to improve patient outcomes and workforce capabilities.

• Business Impact – Demonstrated results in financial performance, operational efficiency, and improved health outcomes.

• Industry Collaboration – Evidence of meaningful partnerships that expand access, improve systems, or drive sustainable change across the healthcare ecosystem.

What should be included in the submission?

To strengthen your nomination, it is recommended that you include quantitative and qualitative evidence in your responses. This may include:

  • Data and metrics that demonstrate measurable outcomes
  • Case studies that illustrate real-world impact
  • Examples that bring your initiatives to life

This level of detail helps judges fully understand the scale, depth, and significance of your organization’s contributions to global healthcare transformation.

What are the expectations for finalists?

Finalists will be notified in early December. While the announcement will remain under embargo until 12 January, we strongly encourage finalists to have representatives attend the HBA reception at JP Morgan that day.

Finalists are also expected to attend the Global Ascension Awards in San Diego, 23–24 April, where the winner will be revealed and celebrated alongside the broader HBA community.

How are nominations evaluated?

• Submissions are reviewed by a confidential selection committee of senior industry leaders aligned with HBA’s mission.

• Each judge independently scores submissions based on the defined criteria.

• The committee then discusses and selects the honorees based on collective evaluation and merit.

Can the same person or company be nominated for multiple awards?

Yes. There is no limit to how many awards a person or company can be nominated for—or how many times they can be resubmitted in future years.

Is there a submission fee?

Yes. The nomination fee is:

• $1,000 for HBA members

• $1,250 for non-members

Do the nominators or submitters influence the outcome?

No. The strength of the nomination including quantitative, qualitative data and examples that bring initiatives to life are what matter most. The identity of the person submitting the nomination does not influence the outcome.
