Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Expands Global Network with Launch in Auckland, New Zealand

The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) is proud to announce the official launch of its newest location in Auckland, New Zealand, marking an exciting expansion of its global network into Aotearoa’s thriving healthcare sector.

Bringing together professionals across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medtech, and broader healthcare industries, HBA Auckland will serve as a dynamic hub for connection, leadership development, and industry advancement. Rooted in HBA’s mission to further the impact and advancement of women in healthcare, the Auckland community will offer opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and career growth for both women and men.

The Auckland branch will be led by a dedicated team of local healthcare leaders committed to fostering an inclusive and empowering professional community.

The official launch event will take place on Thursday, 28 May 2025, at Flex Precinct, 12 Madden Street, Auckland. The evening will begin with networking at 5:30 PM, followed by a featured panel of impactful women sharing “Moments we had to learn to own our impact.”  Speakers include Tina Liu, Partner at Tompkins Wake and leader in life sciences, biotechnology, and FMCG regulatory and commercial matters, and Ruth Lucas, an experienced clinical research professional with deep expertise across all phases of clinical trials, particularly in oncology and the New Zealand research environment.

The panel will explore moments where speakers had to step up, speak up, or advocate for their impact, what held them back earlier in their careers, what changed, common misconceptions around personal branding, and what they now do differently when introducing themselves. The evening will conclude with further networking opportunities. The event is free to attend, with limited capacity.

Healthcare professionals in the Auckland area, as well as organizations with a presence in New Zealand, are encouraged to get involved whether by attending events, becoming members, or partnering to support the growth of a more equitable and innovative healthcare industry. Join us on 28 May to connect and learn more about how to get involved or contact Auckland@HBAnet.org
