Honoring The Life and Legacy of Eve Dryer

The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) is deeply saddened to share the passing of one of its brightest STARS: Eve Dryer. Eve, who had been a dedicated HBA member, volunteer, strategic advisor, and mentor for nearly three decades, passed away on Monday, 8 September.

Eve Dryer HeadshotEve was recognized in 2013 with the HBA’s Strategic Transformation Achievement Recognition (STAR) award for the pivotal roles she played in the HBA’s evolution to a global United Force for Change. She was one of the visionaries responsible for launching the HBA’s prestigious Luminary program, creating long-lasting partnerships with high-profile biopharma and healthcare companies, and serving as a valued Global Board member for a number of years. Her mentorship and unselfish dedication to advancing the careers of dozens of women and men across the life sciences, as well as uplifting leaders within the HBA, is a lasting and loving legacy.

A founding board member of the Greater Philadelphia chapter, Eve also served on the former Metro chapter. She co-chaired the Leadership Conference in 2006 and 2007, introducing the first RFI process during her tenure. While serving on the HBA Global Board in 2008-2011, Eve created the role of key stakeholder relations for the HBA, overseeing the Advisory Board and worked actively to expand HBA’s reach and value to sectors across the healthcare arena. Eve oversaw the Rising Star and Advancing Commitment Engagement (ACE) awards committee for two years, and regularly served on the Woman of the Year (WOTY) event committee, helping to deepen HBA’s relationships with Woman of The Year and Honorable Mentor recipients.

Throughout Eve’s multi-faceted career, including her deep involvement with the ALS Association Board as a Trustee member and the Black Women’s Heath Imperative where she Iaunched the Rare Disease Diversity Coalition, her commitment to patient advocacy and health equity and inclusion was inspirational. Her expertise also included groundbreaking work around health policy, rare disease, multi-cultural communications, neurology and mental health, and senior and women’s health. Eve’s North Star was always centered on giving a voice to the voiceless, benefitting the HBA’s programs over the years.

Her generosity of spirit and immense warmth were equally matched by the size of her heart. Eve deeply cherished the many precious friendships she developed through the HBA. She loved the HBA, and anyone who met her through the HBA loved Eve. Her memory will live forever in her HBA family’s hearts.
