Q: What has working with the HBA meant to you personally or professionally?

"The HBA has been such a supportive place for me to grow in my career. I came here from the world of social work, where I was an advocate for survivors of domestic violence. I knew I wanted to continue working to support women but also hoped to branch out into the nonprofit management space. Since joining the HBA, I have had the chance to move up from membership coordinator to my current role, and along the way I’ve discovered and developed new skills in data analysis and program evaluation that I never imagined I’d enjoy so much.”

Q: What are some of your favorite HBA memories and milestones?

“Some of my favorite memories from my time with the HBA have been the opportunities to connect in person with our stakeholders. A few highlights include mingling with members at the 2019 HBA Annual Conference in San Diego and, more recently, stepping into a new challenge by presenting survey insights at the HBA Think Tank Solutions Summit in Philadelphia.”

Q: Please share any interests or accomplishments outside of work you'd like to be included in your Staff Spotlight

“I’m an avid fiber artist, and it’s rare to see me without a knitting project in hand. My other interests include running, fitness, live music, and being a Buffalo Bills season ticket holder - Go Bills!”

Thank you, Petrina, for your tireless dedication to the HBA and our global mission!
