Bullseye! A Very Successful OC HBA Networking Event Kicks off The Summer in Irvine
The summer kicked off for OC HBA with an energetic night of Axe throwing and networking on July 11, 2024. Thanks to the City of Hope Orange County, the chapter had a fun night of catching up with old friends and making new ones as individual and competitive spirits engaged in the “skill” of Axe throwing. Turnout for this event at Whoop Axe Lake Forest was robust, with twenty-two healthcare leaders joining in on the fun.
The night included dinner and conversation, along with a little “axe throwing training” and an exciting “tournament” to test our skills. Pairing each member up with someone they did not know allowed each team an opportunity to casually get to know each other while having some laughs along the way.
By the end of the evening, Serene Smith and Sid Modha made their championship debut with a nail-biting finish. Many attendees lingered after the event to share contact information and plan to continue conversations after the event—exactly the desired outcome of the planning committee!
Thanks again to the City of Hope for sponsoring this event and for the generous “swag” provided to attendees. If you have not attended an HBA in-person networking event, we hope you will consider joining us in the future. For those who attended this event, we cannot wait to see you again!
