Highlights From HBA OC’s TEDx Supper Club “Debunking Bias in Leadership” with Dr. Shawn Andrews

On 11 April, HBA Orange County hosted a groundbreaking event – the TEDx Supper Club, featuring Dr. Shawn Andrews' insights on "Debunking Bias in Leadership." Originally envisioned as a small, intimate discussion for 10 or fewer participants, the event's popularity exceeded expectations, with 20 enthusiastic attendees.

Participants watched Dr. Shawn Andrews' 15-minute TEDx video before the event and came prepared with questions. To facilitate a rich discussion, Dr. Andrews provided a specially created TEDx workbook based on her talk, which served as a guide throughout the evening.

Held on the charming outdoor patio of Zov’s Irvine, the event combined stimulating conversation with delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere was lively and engaging, with attendees deeply immersed in discussions about leadership and bias.

The success of this event has set the stage for more TEDx Supper Clubs in the future. The positive feedback and high turnout highlight our members’ interest in addressing important topics in leadership and professional growth.
