HBA Indianapolis Member Spotlight: Jennifer Sanderson
Meet Jennifer Sanderson – one of HBA Indianapolis' June Member Spotlights, and newest volunteer on the HBA Indianapolis marketing committee.
Jennifer started her career as a Medical Technologist over 20 years ago, and through her career progression has stayed very close to the medical laboratory. She currently works for Siemens Healthineers as a Sr. Global Marketing Manager over Digitalization, and also works part-time as a Microbiologist for Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.
After getting involved with the HBA through her mentor, Jennifer instantly became interested in the networking and learning opportunities offered by the HBA. She loves meeting members from different career paths, learning new career and life tips. She quickly learned that she is not alone in finding networking to be a challenge.
As for some advice to share with fellow HBA members, Jennifer shared, "the best advice I have ever gotten is to ‘just breathe, and if you can’t breathe change what you are doing.’ My yoga instructor said this one day about holding poses, but it spoke to me on a deeper level. It is important to know why you are doing what you are doing and if don’t know why or the action is causing discomfort in your life, it may be time for a change. My advice, take the time to breathe, be kind to yourself, and know that we all have similar fears and doubts so don’t be afraid to reach out to your peers." A great reminder to pause and reflect on the “now” – thank you for sharing this wisdom, Jennifer.
