Workshop Session: Who Runs the World: Shared Dialogue About the Journey Towards Inclusive Leadership and the Barriers/Accelerators

Speaker: Elke Jeurissen

Elke Jeurissen is co-founder of Glassroots (2012), a boutique consulting firm focused on innovation through stakeholder engagement. She is a commercial engineer and social entrepreneur as founder of Straffe Madammen (2013) and Fierce Ladies (2018), accelerator for women with ambition (2,500 members), supporting organizations in their journey towards more diversity in the workplace. She has almost 25 years of professional experience in gender diversity, change management, corporate communications, public relations and public affairs working for companies such as Orange, BNP Paribas Fortis, National Lottery, Microsoft, BSA, Nuon, HP, Alcatel-Lucent, BBC, BAF, BASF.  

She is a commercial engineer (KU Leuven, cum laude, 1994) and worked at communication agencies, as a spokesperson of the Federal Minister of Telecoms and Public Companies and was co-founder and managing director of Grevendonk, Jeurissen & Partners from May 2001 until December 2011. She is a first-class networker in the political, media, academic and business arena.  

She has delivered over 100 keynote talks about innovation and diversity in leadership. She is frequently interviewed for her expertise in Belgian national media on diversity and female leadership and is co-author of the Dutch book ‘Who Run the World’ with Tine Maenhout (Pelckmans Pro, 2019). She is co-author of the book ‘Vreemdgaan voor Managers. Met stakeholders naar je doel’ (Lannoo Campus, 2013), nominated as best Dutch Management Book of the Year in 2014.
