Kate, what is your current role professionally and with the HBA?
My current role at Pfizer is a key account manager for the internal medicine division. I work with large healthcare systems and IDNs on population health initiatives and quality improvement projects in therapeutic areas where Pfizer has expertise and knowledge. My current role at HBA Dallas - Fort Worth is the director at large for membership and volunteers.
How did you begin your career in Healthcare?
A marketing friend from college was working for a small pharmaceutical company as a sales representative and loved his job. I ran into him and his regional manager one night and found out there was an open position. That was 28 years ago! Since then I have had several positions including regional trainer, operations and district sales manager.
What are you passionate about?
My family! I have been married to Dave for 25 years and have two busy young teenagers, Meg (17) and Emma (14). I also passionate about mentoring young women to help them realize they can achieve both their business and personal goals. I am also passionate about the work we do at Pfizer and the impact it has patients.
Why join the HBA?
Join the HBA for the networking and volunteer opportunities! I love that I have this external network that encourages me and provides developmental educational opportunities to improve my performance. It is a very supportive and inclusive environment.
