Ras joined HBA Indianapolis recently from HBA Atlanta, when she moved to Warsaw, IN, to work as a Principal Research Scientist at medical device maker Zimmer Biomet. In her current role, she supports several business units as a subject matter expert in biomaterials research and biocompatibility, as well as with design of pre-clinical studies and clinical evaluations.
Before her move, Ras worked for Halyard Health, a medical supply spin-off of Kimberly-Clark, and as a postdoctoral researcher at Emory University after obtaining her PhD from the school in 2014.
Ras'story exemplifies the power of the HBA as a global network - not only did she join the HBA a few years ago through her mentor who is now incidentally also based in Indiana, but her HBA ties allowed Ras to immediately connect to HBA Indianapolis members she met at the 2017 Annual HBA Conference. As a new membership committee volunteer of our chapter, Ras hopes to recruit and engage new members from many companies in the "Orthopedic Capital of the World" in Northern Indiana.
In her free time, Ras loves to play tennis and she enjoys the many lakes around Warsaw with her twin sons and husband.
Welcome to Ras from HBA Indianapolis - we look forward to having you as a member and volunteer.
