HBA Frankfurt Gathers to Discuss “Pathways to Gender Equality”
HBA Frankfurt extended its reach in the Frankfurt areas and hosted another successful event in Wiesbaden on 15 November 2018. The event took place at Abbott where more than 20 participants had the opportunity to listen to three fantastic speakers, giving inspirational talks about gender equality.
The event was opened by the HBA Frankfurt team, who presented HBA’s purpose and mission, the development opportunities for professional and personal growth and the volunteering opportunities within the HBA. Ansgar Resch welcomed the audience on behalf of the sponsor Abbott, giving insights into the organization and how Abbott is handling gender parity. Afterwards, the stage was given to the speakers Prof. Dr. Regine Graml who is lecturing at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt as well as Muriel Bektor, global client director at Microsoft.
Key topics of their speeches were:
- Myth and evidence about gender equality in leadership positions diverge. For example, the myth that women do not really strive for top positions can be refuted. Evidence shown by Prof. Dr. Regine Graml shows that women do strive for top positions, but their aspirations drop.
- Digital transformation is a great opportunity for women. Muriel Bekto is a leading example that pathways from Healthcare to High Tech for women are possible.
The event was closed with a fruitful discussion between audience and speakers. Afterwards, everyone had the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals accompanied with drinks and snacks. HBA Frankfurt would like to thank all participants, speakers and the sponsor for their contribution, the insightful discussions and great networking.
