Welcome to 2019.
It seems only a little while ago that I was reaching out to you about setting off with the new regional model for the HBA and now we have completed a whole year as the HBA West Chester. 2018 was a great year with lots of events and member interactions so we hope to continue with that theme moving forward in order to provide you with the best HBA experience possible.
We already have already kicked off our roster for Q1 with a very popular presentation by Lynn Paolicelli on the authentic networking which was held at the THREE01 restaurant in the DoubleTree Hotel, King of Prussia on 10 January. LexisNexis were a gracious host and sponsor providing a fabulous buffet and refreshments to feed our bodies while we exercised our social brains.
Our 23 January event is right around the corner and will be a master class in Vocal Empowerment with TED presenter, Dr. Laura Sicola at the conveniently located Twenty9 restaurant and bar in Malvern. This high-energy event is specifically designed to maximize your persuasion and influence by exploring "the three C’s" of vocal executive presence so you can command the room, connect with the audience and close the deal. During an interactive workshop, Dr. Laura Sicola will reveal common speech pitfalls that sabotage people’s effectiveness and show you how to turn them into leadership strengths.
In February, we are very lucky to have POWER board member Shelley Potente for an engaging workshop on the 27th aimed at improving your personal brand, both in person and online. Shelley will share the importance of these critical skills: presence, impact and self-promotion. This workshop will teach you how to have executive presence and confidently and comfortably communicate your strengths and accomplishments. Registration should be open soon so watch our website or the community to sign up as you don’t want to miss this opportunity.
The mentoring program continues to be one of the most valued experiences by HBA members. A free informational webinar is available on 31 January which will help answer key questions about this new regional including a live Q&A session with regional mentoring director, Colleen Burns. All mentors and mentees must be signed up by 1 March so the time is now to join in and benefit from this great opportunity.
Please also know that the HBA West Chester board wants to hear from you. If you want to reach out to me directly, we will make sure that we connect the right person with you to answer any queries that you may have. If you want to be more involved with the committees for programming, engagement or marketing we would love to hear from you since we want to reflect the views of all of our members and bring events and programs which speak to the issues and topics you want to learn more about.
With that I better sign off and let you get on with your day - looking forward to seeing everyone at one of our upcoming events and hearing from you all in due course.
All the best,
