Do you want to develop and/or expand your marketing and communications chops? Join the HBA Montgomery Corridor marketing and communications committee to hone your communications and marketing leadership skills.
Emerging marketing and comms leaders are needed to make the HBA Montgomery Corridor chapter events a dynamic, enriching success. Committee members support the chapter’s marketing & communications efforts through event promotion, membership recruitment, public relations and social media.
The marketing committee builds and shapes the foundation of the external persona of the HBA Montgomery Corridor chapter brand. Committee members can experiment with writing, digital media, public relations, graphic design, photography, video development and project management. The marketing committee is empowered to try new activities and sharpen skills that strengthen business networks, conduct market research and deliver educational advocacy programs and individual/corporate recognitions.
The marketing committee is seeking volunteers to fulfill roles such as:
• Event Promotion Leader
o A chance to build, sharpen and/or shine your public relations skills by working with programming team to direct and implement marketing and communications about events, speakers, programs and venues, which optimizes event success.
o Provide creative writing and thinking skills to make our events a success.
o Drive interest in events before, during and after.
o Great chance to learn media relations.
• Social Media Leader
o Aspiring social media maven, webmistress and editor is needed. Keep the information flowing by managing our chapter’s website and eNewsletter with the HBA corporate and regional social media team.
o Master the use of various social media channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and MeetUp to create/increase awareness and buzz around chapter news, activities, events, recognition, awards, etc.
o Aligns and coordinates social media activity with other chapters in region, like Greater Washington and Baltimore, the Mid-Atlantic regional marketing team, the HBA Central marketing team and digital innovators committee.
• Communications Committee Leader
o An opportunity to develop, sharpen and/or hone your public relations skills by working with the regional communications team to set schedule and cadence for chapter communications, including monthly submissions to the HBA Mid-Atlantic newsletter, event storyboards and website development.
o Provides creative writing/content for chapter communications using HBA website and/or chapter community to highlight volunteer awards, openings and opportunities to partner with corporate development leaders.
