HBA Greater Philadelphia chapter Outstanding Leadership award goes to Serena Warren

Serena WarrenSerena Warren, senior executive oncology sales specialist of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, was recently recognized by the HBA Greater Philadelphia board on April 12 at Janssen in Horsham, PA for her outstanding efforts to promote leadership behaviors among women, recognizing leaders throughout the organization and working across all functional committees.
Serena has been a member of the HBA and the Greater Philadelphia chapter since March 2012. She joined because of the opportunity to network with truly great women. Serena also appreciated the content of the programs that the HBA brought to their members and recognized the value of personal and professional development opportunities by getting more involved as a leader volunteer. She volunteers for the awesome experiential learning opportunity. This has enhanced her professional life by the opportunity the HBA afforded her by “learn on the job” and be in a safe no risk supportive environment.
As the director at large co-lead of the leadership engagement committee, Serena leads a team of 12 amazing women. She is known for empowering her team and providing positive reinforcement. Serena is so passionate about the HBA that she leads outreach calls to new members who are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities. In addition, she provides leadership opportunities to her team while ensuring they are positioned for success. Through her leadership efforts, HBA Greater Philadelphia launched the Spark award in December 2015. This award gives any HBA member the opportunity to recognize an HBA peer on the spot for leadership behavior and accomplishment.
Serena encourages members to get involved and engaged early on. This will open doors and build relationships with people who will become lifelong friends. Our member volunteers are the lifeblood of our chapter and Serena is so grateful to be an active part of it. She feels good to be able to contribute to a very successful HBA chapter and work alongside inspirational leaders in the healthcare industry.
She always puts the good of her committee, chapter and the HBA as a whole ahead of personal gain. Serena exemplifies grace under fire, and never loses her equanimity. She is a shining example of a leader and we benefit from her participation on the board as well as her friendship.
Thank you Serena for your relentless leadership and guidance. Congratulations.
