Current Openings
ACE Award Committee, Team Members
- Description
Create and send communications to healthcare industry companies to solicit sumbissions. Manage the schedule of activiites for the selection panel. Faciliate the preparations for the awards ceremony presentation at the Leadership Conference.
- Time Commitment
3 hours per week. Award to be presented at Leadership Conference in the fall.
- Qualifications/Skills
Good writing and communications skills; experience with working with spreadsheets, strong attention to detail, and experience in dealing with high level executives.

Advisory Board Committee, Team Members
- Description
Identify and recruit advisors for the 2009 Advisory Board while engaging current advisors in strategy dialogue throughout the year. Communicate (via email and personal phone calls) with prospective Advisory Board members. Plan for 2009 Advisory Board activities.
- Time Commitment
2 hours per week. .
- Qualifications/Skills
Good writing and communications skills; experience with working with spreadsheets, strong attention to detail, and experience in dealing with high level executives.

Business Development Committee, Researcher
- Description
Design and oversee implementation of new initiatives research
- Time Commitment
2 hour per week, more during survey deployment and analysis.
- Qualifications/Skills
Must have market research expertise. Ability to conduct independent research as well as work with a contracted vendor.
- Other
Ability to work as part of a team is critical. Tasks are usually divided among several sub-committee members, but each person must make an equal contribution.
On-Going Research Committee, Researcher
- Description
Review results of HBA Membership Survey with Chapter and Affiliates and analyze specific data cuts in response to inquiries. Design and oversee conduct of Leadership Conference attendee evaulation survey.
- Time Commitment
1 hour per week, more during survey deployment and analysis.
- Qualifications/Skills
Must have market research expertise. Ability to conduct independent research as well as work with a contracted vendor.

Ability to work as part of a team is critical. Tasks are usually divided among several sub-committee members, but each person must make an equal contribution.
Research Sub-Committee, Chapter Survey Support
- Description
Develop Chapter and Affiliate (C/A) membership surveys, oversee tabulation of program evaluations and surveys by a vendor; develop centralized system to capture all data.
- Time Commitment
2-3 hours per week, more during survey deployment and analysis.
- Qualifications/Skills
Must have market research expertise.
- Other
Ability to work as part of a team is critical. Tasks are usually divided among several sub-committee members, but each person must make an equal contribution.
Rising Stars Committee, Team Members
- Description
Develop and propose a strategy and tactical plan wth success metrics to increase engagement of HBA Rising Stars.
- Time Commitment
2 hours per week. Newly formed committee with goal for kick off in August 2008.
- Qualifications/Skills
Good writing and communications skills, experience with strategic planning, and experience in dealing with executives.
Volunteer Committee, Chair
- Description
Need someone who can think outside of the box, quickly identify problems/challenges and develop creative solutions. The committee is developing a Volunteer Tool Kit to assist the Director of Volunteers at the chapter level. Conduct interviews with Director of Volunteers at each Chapter via phone.
- Time Commitment
4 hours /week. Toolkit to be completed 15 October 2008
- Qualifications/Skills
Good realtionship building skills, organizational and PC skills. Able to write reports and assemble chapter information for Volunteer Tool Kit. Sense of humor is welcome.
Volunteer Committee, Database Specialist
- Description
Ability to design a volunteer database that is user firendly, comprehensive and provides ability to capture and produce usable data. Solution/outcome must work with or utilize extising HBA database and website technology.
- Time Commitment
4 hours /week. Targeted deadline is November 2008
- Qualifications/Skills
Expert computer database literacy on design, development and execution. Great attendtion to detail, ability to meet timelines, ability to make sugestions and proposals.
Volunteer Committee, Writer/Editor
- Description
Initial assignment would be to help develop and assemble the Director of Volunteers Tool Kit. Synthesize information and assist in the assembling of the finished Tool Kit. Write/edit job descriptions for the Volunteer Tool Kit. Some descriptions exist and need tweaking, some need to be written from scratch.
- Time Commitment
4 hours /week. Toolkit to be completed 15 October 2008
- Qualifications/Skills
Excellent writing and communication skills. Good people skills. Great attention to detail. Excellent team player, flexibility. Able to write reports and assemble chapter information for Volunteer Tool Kit. Flexibility a must.
Web TV Series Committee, Branding and Marketing Specialist
· Description
Develop and implement successful marketing campaign by targeting audiences for six web talk shows produced November 5-7 at the 2008 Leadership Conference. Includes creating a positioning statement, short and long term marketing plans and liaising with other committee members.
· Time Commitment
5 hours per week through November.
· Qualifications/Skills
Excellent writing and communications skills; experience with marketing, strong attention to detail, and experience in dealing with high level executives.
Web TV Series Committee, Content Specialist
· Description
Develop full script that will serve to guide thought provoking and compelling dialogue for six HBA talk shows on November 5-7 at the 2008 Leadership Conference. Each six minute episode depicts a moderator and two guests.
· Time Commitment
5 hours per week through November. Must attend the Leadership Conference in Chicago Nov 5-7.
· Qualifications/Skills
Excellent writing and communications skills as well as editorial skills. Previous accomplishment in working with speakers and facilitators is preferred. Must be flexible, self-motivated and confident in dealing with all professional levels.
Web TV Series Committee, Production Specialist
· Description
Liaise with talent, content and marketing specialists to produce six HBA talk shows on November 5-7 at the 2008 Leadership Conference. Each six minute episode will depict a moderator and two guests. Work with vendor to conduct nine additional “street” interviews.
· Time Commitment
5 hours per week through November. Must attend the Leadership Conference in Chicago Nov 5-7.
· Qualifications/Skills
Previous production experienced preferred. Must be self-motivated and confident dealing with high level executives.
Web TV Series Committee, Strategic Planning Specialist
· Description
Develop an overall strategy for the production of six HBA talk shows on November 5-7 at the 2008 Leadership Conference. Strategic plan will include marketing and branding, sponsorship and fundraising, securing talent/speakers, as well as content, production, alignment and metrics. Primary goal is to keep project on time and plan for potential contingencies.
· Time Commitment
5 hours per week through November.
· Qualifications/Skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details. Project management experience is preferred. Must be self-motivated and confident in dealing with all professional levels.
Web TV Series Committee, Talent Management Specialist
· Description
Develop and implement recruitment strategy to secure talent who will appear on six HBA talk shows produced November 5-7 at the 2008 Leadership Conference. Includes creation of a viral marketing campaign directed to targeted individuals for the specified speaking engagements.
· Time Commitment
5 hours per week through November.
· Qualifications/Skills
Excellent writing and communications skills and experience dealing with high-level executives is preferred. Must be self-motivated to seek out, contact, follow up and secure talent.
